Reception September 2025

We are a community  school and the admission authority is Leeds City Council, who set our admission policy every year.  You can read our school’s admission policy at Our school admissions policies (leeds.gov.uk)

How to apply for a September 2025 reception place

If you are applying for a reception place for September 2025, all applications are made in advance.  The national closing date is 15 January 2025. Offers are made by the Local Authority on national offer day (16 April 2025).

Our Published Admission Number is 30 and this is the number of places the school can admit in reception in 2025.

You must apply to the local authority who empties your bins. If this is Leeds, go to www.leeds.gov.uk/apply. The website is a composite prospectus for all Leeds schools, and this includes:

  • all the steps you need to go through to make an application
  • the key dates
  • a search tool to see if your home address gives any higher priority for admission to any school(s)
  • an explanation about how places are offered if there are more applications than spaces (oversubscribed)
  • the online application portal - apply online to be sent your offer day letter by email
  • a summary of each school’s individual admission policy criteria
  • data about who got a place in the last 3 years - this will help you work out if there is a reasonable chance of your child qualifying for a place
  • information about applying under a specific admission criteria (such as your child being previously looked after). It is important to ensure you submit all supporting evidence by the deadline to show you meet any such criteria

You can also watch the Leeds City Council school admissions video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRU1SrS7iJE for more information.

In-year applications

If you are moving into Leeds or want to change schools in Leeds, you need to make a school transfer – often called an in-year application.

This includes

  • applications for a place in reception after the start of term in September
  • applications for a place in all other year groups (year 1-6)

Moving schools can be a difficult experience for a child. You should always speak to your child's current school before trying to move to see what support they can offer you.

Applying for secondary school (year 7) places for September 2025

Please read the information below from Leeds City Council Admissions for information.

Applications for year 7 places for September 2025 - Children born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014 are due to start year 7 in September 2025.    You must apply to your home local authority (whoever empties your bins) even if you wish to apply for Leeds schools. You can make an online application on our online portal from 1 August 2024. You should apply by 31 October 2024 as this is the national deadline.

Before you apply, visit www.leeds.gov.uk/apply to understand the application steps and school admissions rules. You can also watch our school admissions you tube video which covers the key steps.

If your child is taught out of chronological age group or currently lives abroad, you won’t be able to apply using the online portal. Please ask us for a paper application form by emailing this email address.

Applications or changes made after the national deadline (31 October)

Not all schools allow changes to be made after the national deadline.   If you submit or change your application after the deadline it could be treated with a lower priority than applications submitted on time - this reduces your chances of being offered a preference school.  If you submit or change your application:

  • by 28 November 2024, most Leeds schools will treat the application as on time - check if this date applies by reading each school's admissions policy
  • after 28 November but before offer day, you’ll need to contact us for a paper application form
  • by 31 December 2024, your application will receive a lower priority than those submitted on time - unless we agree you had exceptional reasons for missing this date.
  • LCC offer secondary school places on 3 March 2025 (offer day). If you applied through our online application portal, we'll email you with your child's offer.
  • for the first time after 3 March 2025 (offer day), you will need to join a waiting list

If you have exceptional reasons why you could not submit your application on time, not receiving a reminder to apply is not an exceptional reason.

Moving house: You should apply by the deadline using your current address.  As soon as you move, you should send us evidence of your house move (and any new school preferences), we need this no later than one month after you've moved.   If you submit evidence after 31 December 2024 we will not be able to take it into account until after offer day.

You need to tell us immediately if there are changes in your circumstances that affect your application after you submit it and before your child starts at the school.  Let us know if:

  • you have moved home – tell as soon as possible but no later than a month after you've moved
  • your child's sibling has left or joined a school you've applied to
  • your child has left a feeder school

If you do not tell us about changes, we may withdraw your school offer. If you're unsure if a change affects your application, please contact us.

National Offer Day - All local authorities send offers for year 7 places on 3 March 2025. If you applied through our online application portal, we'll email you with your child's offer. We’ll send this email during the working day.   If you applied in any other way, you'll receive an offer letter to your registered home address (a few days after offer day).

To ensure we deal with your email as quickly as possible, please make sure you are contacting the correct team:
