Librarians

We are the Librarians of Swinnow Primary School. Our mission is to spread the joy of reading. We want everyone at Swinnow Primary to have access to high quality books - so we are working hard to make our library a happy and welcoming space, full of wonderful books to read and share.

To help us achieve our mission, Ben and Elle from Linley and Simpson Estate & Letting Agents are helping us raise much needed funds. We have lots of exciting activities planned, involving everyone in school.  By working with Linley and Simpson, we are hoping to buy a new electronic library system, rugs and cushions to make the library a comfy space... and most importantly, lots and lots of lovely books!

So far, the Librarians have:

• completed a reading for pleasure survey across school. We now know we need more short chapter books, graphic novels and books written by a wider range of authors
• completed a library scavenger hunt to discover all the different types of books we have in our library
• done lots of tidying and sorting!
• requested Book Buddies and soft furnishings to make our library more comfortable and cosy
• visited the mobile library bus
• ran a 'Name the Book Buddy' competition
