Leeds Waterfront Festival July 2022 - Autism & Neurodiverse friendly event

Leeds Autism Services have teamed up with Canal and River Trust to host this year's accessible version of the Leeds Waterfront Festival. The event is specially designed to be autism, neurodiverse and learning disability friendly.

The Leeds Waterfront Festival brings the waterways alive each year by hosting a fantastic mix of activities, performance, workshops, arts and fun for all ages.

This year’s main festival launches 26th & 27th June, with our autism friendly event taking place at Leeds Dock on Friday, 29th July 2022 (11am - 4pm)

Breeze in the Park 2022 - The Breeze Team are delighted to announce Breeze in the Park is back this year and they would like to invite you to come along. Breeze in the Park is fun packed family event with inflatables, arts workshops, performances, and sports activities for all ages. Click here for dates and locations.

Parents Connect - SCOPE

Parents Connect is a free service that supports parents and carers looking after children under 18 who have disabilities and additional needs. Click here to find details of the support sessions that are running and how to apply. This is a great opportunity for you to look after you and for parents to come together!  

Autism Awareness and Acceptance Week - 28th Mar - 3rd April 2022

On Monday 28th March, Mrs Griffen our SENCo will be delivering a whole school assembly as part of Autism Awareness and Acceptance Week 2022 and then at some point during the week each class will be completeing some work around Autism. The presentation being used for the assembly can be viewed here. Check out the weekly newsletter to see exactly what work went on in each of our classes! 

SEND parent/carer Coffee Morning - Wed 23rd March

This morning we held our first face-to-face SEND parent/carer Coffee Morning. Our SEND Governor - Kelly Fowler - joined us and shared lots of information about support available within the community. It was a great success - thank you to all those that attended. Keep your eye out here for details of the next one where we will be discussing transition and activities for SEND children over the summer holidays.

Leeds Local Offer Live Event

The Leeds Local Offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families in a single place. The Leeds Local Offer can be found at www.leedslocaloffer.org.uk

Leeds Local Offer Live is a market place event that provides families with the opportunity to learn about services available to them.

The event is taking place on:
Tuesday 15th March 2022, 10am till 2pm (drop in)
At: Banqueting Hall, Leeds Civic Hall

Leeds ABC Group

Leeds ABC Group (Leeds and District Autism, Behaviour and Communication Support Group) hold mothly support sessions.
The sessions offer: advice around autism both from a professional and parental point of view, signposting to activities and agencies, help with paperwork such as applications for DLA and Family fund, Carers grant etc or simply just a listening ear for parents needing to offload.
Parents / carers only - not appropriate for children to attend.
Admission is free, just turn up!

The sessions are held at Butts Lane McDonalds, 6.30pm - 8.30pm on the following dates:
